I'd recommend the city to anyone in a heart beat, We flew in to the airport which is close enough for very short transfer via taxi or metro and immediately set out.
Our hotel was very close to the old quarter and within a minute we we heading up into a set of gothic towers for a great view over the city, our legs didn't thank us for the amount of stairs and we did have a mild panic when we realised we had been locked in the towers at siesta time!
When we had escaped through railings we sat outside in a plaza soaking up the sun.
The afternoon was spent taking endless photos, it's really hard not to get neck ache from looking up at the buildings and we finally tucked ourselves away into a cafe for olives and cervezas, before red wine in a smart bar.
Tummies were rumbling as we had decided to get into the Spanish food timings, eating everything late so dinner wasn't until 10.30pm that night. We discovered a hidden gem of a restaurant where I had the best fish stew I have ever eaten before heading back to the hotel checking out all of the street and wall art.
